Thursday 4th February
Hamner Springs are natural springs (the most popular in New Zealand) in this Alpine resort where the kiwi's come skiing in winter. There are about a dozen pools where the water varies in temperature from 26 to 40 degrees centigrade.

After a morning relaxing in the spa pools of Hamner I joined a bunch of thrill seekers to chase down the river in the Jet boat. As the kiwi’s would say, it was awesome, as was the scenery.

After all this excitement we drove to Christchurch where we were due to stay 4 nights in this B&B. We were slightly taken back on arrival to find it was on the busiest road in New Zealand, the first time we had seen anything beyond a single carriageway. But we reassured ourselves it is a stunning looking house, we had a wonderful room and delightful hosts…………….
